Once bitten,twice shy...Can Ruggedman please shut up?

Every time my hand aches to write about this issue,i quickly subdue the temptation for some reasons i wouldn't like to disclose in this note but recent events has made it impossible for me to pocket this urge so here i am satisfying that urge.

When 9ice released his album,we didn't expect less from a prolific artist of his status.Instantly,the two most commercial tracks in the albums Gbamu Gbamu and Energy became instant hits.Radio stations and clubs immediately had a new addition to their must-play play list.Then out of nowhere,rumors filtered in about a less commercial track in the album specifically added to the album to give an insight to why he separated with his wife.[Toni Payne]

Of course,after listening to the track''Once bitten,twice shy'',most of us knew the news going on in town about the track was just a mere rumor and we still strongly hold the view till this day but a few skeptical and mischievous ones had a different view.Not that you can blame them though,we live in a world where almost anything can happen.Like most rumor,it went on and on and after a while,the smoke went out and we all almost forgot about it.

However,some couple of weeks ago,i got a message from a friend [Jayeola Papin Odunewu] who asked me to visit Toni Payne's page on facebook.I quickly got on the computer and i was held spell bound for the next few hours with the hundreds of comments,thoughts and view that tore her page down that night.Not sure if Toni just heard the rumor that night but she made an attempt to disparage the rumor by asking 9ice[indirectly though] to come out and tell the whole world what or who the track was about.

As expected,this drew lots of comments from hundreds of her friends on facebook.Conflicting views turned into arguments,insults and all sort on her page.I remember advising her that night that as a publicist,it was a wrong move for her to discuss such personal issue on a social network like facebook.

Out of the hundred of commentators on her status,one individual stood out.Our dear own Ruggedybaba who not only supported Toni's view about 9ice coming out clean on the issue but also went a step further to insult and abuse whoever has a contrary view.Not that we don't understand his untamed sentiments though.Just in case,you have been living in Mars and you haven't heard the ugly rumor,here is an insight.Rumor has it that 9ice caught Ruggedman and Toni payne in the act...Don't ask me what act,i bet you already know.Very ugly and mischievous rumor if you ask me.

As expected,Toni's status sent the topic back to the spotlight and people stated saying all sorts as usual.Trust Naija gbeboruns now.After a while however, the issue seems buried once again until a few days ago when Ruggedyman released a telephone conversation between him and 9ice.Let me break the whole scenario down for you at this point,Ruggedy man called 9ice, recorded his conversation with him without his consent and then released it on the internet...BOOOM!!!!!

We probably live in a country where anything goes but in some civilized environment,that's nothing short of a criminal offense,simple and straight but it's not time to play police and thief,that one na 9ice wahala.

My reasonable human mind has been longing to know and has been asking whoever cares to listen,what is Ruggedman hiding?Why Ruggedybaba body dey hot like this?Why is he running from pillar to post and gaining undue publicity out of this mess all in the name of trying to vindicate himself?In the said conversation with 9ice,he also asked him the same question''Have i ever accused you of such?''

For me,what is clear at this stage is that the track ''Once beaten,twice shy'' bears no reference to anyone so please,let's all stop the rumor.Why i am trying so hard to hold on to my view,can Ruggedman please shut up and stop making me have doubts.The parties primarily involved have both moved on so wetin kan be your own?

Commenting on the recorded conversation made available by Ruggedman,9ice has this to say''“Please, Ruggedman issue is like a fowl trying to fly like a bird.Though, they are all birds.If you don’t do something you are never accused of , why are you going extra miles to cover up. When you know you never did it and you are never accused. Thanks. God bless”
