Céline Dion Gives Birth to Twin Boys

Celine DionDaniele Venturelli/Getty Images
Céline Dion knows that a hit single is great, but two are even better. And that's what she's got on her hands now with the birth of healthy twin boys at a Florida Hospital this morning.
The singer's rep confirms to E! News that mom and the boys, who were born by cesarean section, are all doing well and resting comfortably…
The boys are anything but titanic, with one weighing 5 lbs. 4 oz., and the other 5 lbs. 10 oz., per People, and both will reportedly spend a few days in an incubator since they are a few weeks premature.
The 42-year-old new mom, her husband, René, and her 9-year-old son, René-Charles, are reportedly all thrilled.
According to the singer's rep, "Céline is resting now and they plan to discuss what to name the boys when she wakes up."
Congratulations to the happy family!

Katy Perry Marries Russell Brand in True Bollywood Fashion

Katy Perry just kissed her husband, and we presume she liked it.
The pop star and British envelope-pusher Russell Brand swapped vows Saturday in a rather grand ceremony, E! News has confirmed.
The nuptials were held at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India, the same spot where the quirky couple got engaged on New Year's Eve.
"Russell Brand and Katy Perry are overjoyed to confirm that they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23," a rep for the newlyweds said in a statement to E! News. "The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples' closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India."
While details are scarce on the über-couple's wedding, hotel employees were seen adorning bird cages with flowers earlier in the day. Media stationed outside of the wedding also reported that the sounds of Indian instruments and songs from Rajasthani folk musicians could be heard from outside of the resort.
Perry's good pal (and rumored maid of honor) Rihanna and her baseball-playing beau Matt Kemp were on the 85-strong guest list (though there are conflicting reports as to whether Ri-Ri was in actual attendance), along with Brand's mum and Perry's parents, who flew from Mumbai to Jaipur with the couple on Wednesday.
Prior to the big day, a bazaar was set up outside Rambagh Palace on Thursday—a custom in India—so that guests could pick out saris, jewelry and other Indian objects to set the tone for the impending nuptials. That night, the guests sipped cocktails by the resort's pool, nibbled on Indian food and enjoyed a performance by 40 folk musicians and dancers.
Friday night, the couple participated in a traditional mehndi ceremony, during which the bride's hands, arms and feet are painted with henna.
Only the in-crowd was informed of the marital plans ahead of time so that they could take care of visa and passport paperwork.
To discourage the haters (or the trigger-happy media) out there, Perry tweeted on Tuesday: "TWIT BREAK: Greatest gift u can give us is respect & ♥ during this private X. No use wasting ur X w/ STOLEN or FALSE info. Thnku for this."
Fort Knoxian perimeter was also set up around the wedding venue.
But as he's proved in the past, Brand is always ready to take care of business when anyone tries to rain on their love parade.
Brand took a group from the wedding party on a little prenuptial safari Friday at Ranthambhore National Park, where they were diligently tailed by a jeep ferrying photogaphers from the Associated Press, Reuters and other real-deal news outlets.
The pleasure-seekers were motoring along when two of Brand's security guards allegedly went wild on the reporters and their driver.
The cameramen claim the actor's muscle swiped their keys, leaving them stranded in the wild-life sanctuary. Park rangers ultimately got their hands on the keys and returned them to the stunned shutterbugs, who later filed a complaint against the guards and Brand.
But hey, no one was killed!
Perry and Brand were officially outed as an item not long after the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and have stuck by each other through thick and thin, Sesame Street evictions and airport arrests, ever since.
Last Sunday, Brand tweeted this: "@katyperry YOU'RE A HACKER, A BAD WIFE AND YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOUR IS GINGER. There's not enough dye in the world to rinse away the lie." That message came a few minutes after Brand seemingly tweeted, "My farts smell."
Here's hoping their marriage holds up under the weight of all that whimsy.

''ONLY ME NOT FOR MIKEL OBI'' -TUFACE

Tuface Idibia and his sweet daughter

In recent times, rumour mill went agog with the news that Tuface Idibia’s song “Only me” was targeted at nigerian footballer, Mikel Obi.

The gist went on to say that “Tubaba” had met Mikel in some lagos night club and made to say hello but was hit with a cold and reluctant Mikel.

Hence Tubaba went into the studio and composed “Only me”. They pointed at the lyrics “ma lo rope omo pe iwo nikan loma lowo, ma lo rope no bi gbogbo wey go get this money” .

Tuface has just come on twitter to deny that allegation. He tweeted thus:

“I hear pips r sayn the song “only me” is 4 mikel obi.4 the record I dnt have any prob with him.he’s a talented baller and I’ve met him 1nce” So guys, you have heard it. Next time you listen to the song or watch the video, know that it was simply a fiction of Tubaba’s imagination

Kunle is Ultimate man

Twenty-three year old Ekiti state born Oluremi Oyekunle, last night emerged season 7 winner of the Nigerian Breweries sponsored reality show, the Gulder Ultimate Search.
He emerged a winner after a tension soaked and pulsating challenge that left viewers gasping for breath. The journey towards the final showdown began when  Chukwuma Anyanwu, 21,  lost out in the day’s second challenge allowing Adeleke, Atiku and Oyekunle to make the final.

kunle wins gus7
The final challenge would take a combination of mental and physical strengths to scale through, task master Bob had told the finalists as this was also a crucial factor in determining who the ultimate hero would be.
After the countdown, Atiku was the first to shoot forward. He was able to hook his bundled plates, climbed over the wooden wall, landed safely and ran straight into the bush to sort out his prototype box, and began to set the two boxes that were needed to complete the scale with which he will climb up to cut down the suspended bridge that leads straight to the champion zone.
Whoever got to the champion’s spot would lift the hero’s flag that was kept on the floor there to signify his triumph.
On the trail of Atiku was Oyekunle, Adeleke on the other hand, was left behind at the start zone, struggling to hook his bundled plates.   Adeleke eventually hooked the plates and caught up with the two. To the chagrin of all, Adeleke was the first to construct one of the two boxes while others were still fumbling with theirs.
However, after about thirty minutes on the box, the ever smiling Oyekunle shocked the anchorman Bob-Manuel when he suddenly announced that he had completed all his boxes. At this time Adeleke and Atiku couldn’t just figure out the way out. The first box that Adeleke earlier constructed collapsed in his face and he became aghast.
The anxiety that had accompanied the final showdown melted away at exact 4.30pm, when the slimmest of the three warriors Oyekunle Oluremi ran wildly to the beam, took his machete, set his three boxes, climbed over the boxes, cut the rope that tied the bridge to the beam, ran across it like a wild cat, picked the pole.
Jumped inside the champion spot and hoisted the pole with the champion’s flag. Kunle’s countenance changed, his face contoured he was shouting like a cry, running madly across the field, asking rhetorically, “Am I the Ultimate Hero, Am I dreaming?” “Ah!  Ah! I am The Last Man Standing”.
The highly elated Bob-Manuel, the four times Gulder Ultimate Search presenter, in the heat of the euphoria, held Kunle’s hands and declared, “by the power bestowed on me by the Council of Elders in Omo Forest, I declare you, Oyekunle Oluremi, as the Ultimate Hero we have been searching for this past 21 days, Therefore you are pronounced the winner of the 2010 Gulder Ultimate Search. Take the King’s goblet, go and celebrate”.

Growing up

For a very long time,i haven't really had the opportunity to sit down and watch T.V except for Arsenal's games which i rarely miss,i have totally forgotten the other importance of T.V. NTA news has been replaced by a quick glance of Punch newspaper in the morning and Yahoo news on the internet.Late night movies on NTA or LTV has been replaced by a visit to the Galleria or Ozone once or twice a week.

I got a whole day off work yesterday and i really had nothing to do.I thought about writing or reading but i wasn't really in the mood for any of these.I had a little misunderstanding with my girl friend a night before so my mind was pretty filled up to do any of these two tasks.[you know how it is after all those small love quarrel]''why not watch T.V'',i thought. I turned on the t.v and since it was around 2pm,i was expecting to catch some kiddies programme but i couldn't find any that really caught my attention. This really got me thinking, what happened to all those lovely programmes we use to watch while we were little.

I took more interest and decided to do a little research.I called up my little cousin and after my discussion with him,it dawn on me that it's a whole different world now.All those lovely programmes ain't showing again anywhere on T.V.I still have memories of me running home during my primary school days with nothing on my mind but to watch Voltron.Oh yeah.........Defender of the universe.Superted use to follow shortly.Robin hood was on on every Tuesday. What happened to Rentaghost?Superman,Batman and all the other men?where is Zero-x hiding? What about every kids favorite,Tales by moonlight,6:30pm every Sunday on NTA network.I remember watching Fresh prince of Bel-Air on Cadbury breakfast show on Saturday morning and even though we could barely hear what they were saying,we still pretended we could and we laughed anytime we hear people laugh.

All we watch these days are junks and pure junks.T.V programming is definitely sick.I remember days when T.V was so much fun that you know almost all the programmes that will show on each t.v station everyday of the week. There was a time when local stations enjoyed so much viewership. No one misses Village Headmaster,Behind the clouds,Ripples,Secret of the sand,Lady of the Rose,The rich also cry e.t.c.It was as if everybody sworn an oath to always watch these programmes.I remember running to my neighbors house to watch Shanana, the man that flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee on Riddles and hopes.T.V was such a wonderful thing and a very important component during my growing up days.

Perhaps it's modernization that has changed everything.football every afternoon after school is now missing on the streets corner. You hardly find girls drawing lines for ''Suwe''.When was the last time i saw girls with skipping ropes?what happened to all to all those happy kids we find on all street corner launching their own little airplane into the skies?oh yes,i haven't seen a kid with tread and a can of milk making kites in a long time. What happened to paper planes?what happened to paper ships that we all happily place on any flowing water after the rain. What happened to table soccer?Do kids still do ''Boju Boju'' or Police and thief?

Growing up was so much fun and you just wish you could remain as kids forever. If only i could bring back those lovely times again but everything they say is subject to change but are these changes really positive?Share a few things about growing up with me.

Watch out for the full version in the April edition of Genesis magazine.

    • Patrick Lord P Akhuemokhan Today you realised that we live in the future.satelite TV became cheap enough and SONY invented something called the DVD (and Blu-ray after that) so Tv content can be watched on demand.and all of a sudden premiership became more interesting than serieA (who would have thought) and kids now have an IQ of 120+.its not a future of flying cars as we were made to believe.
